The Why Of It

Ok so why a YA book about groundhogs? Well, I've never really been a lover of animals for the most part. I do have a dry sence of humor and sometimes it goes too far.  When I started having a groundhog problem at home, everyone was saying, "they are so cute", or "leave them alone". I started naming them. Then I'd make stories up on facebook involving the groundhogs. I had a couple people who actually watched for the stories.

January 2025 my mom became ill, and I was expecting from my son my first grandson. As I had loads of time in the hospital with mom, I was researching how many YA books there were for boys ages 12 and up. Not many that seemed interesting to me. Sure there were the obvious major reads, and then cartoon novels for kids who hate to read. I just thought, why not write one.

It was quite an experience I have to say. I hope it's entertaining as well as a good read. I'm starting the outline for book 2 as soon as possible.
